There is no official Litematica for NeoForge. Litematica is developed for Fabric, and the NeoForge builds that exist come from Forgematica — an unofficial third-party port by TexTrue. The good news is that the NeoForge side of that port is actively maintained: checked in October 2026, its builds reach Minecraft 26.2, one game drop behind the Fabric original.
Why There Is No Official NeoForge Version
Litematica’s official line has always run on light loaders: LiteLoader for 1.12.x, Rift for 1.13.x, and Fabric from 1.14 onwards. NeoForge did not exist when those decisions were made, and the project’s developer, masa, has never published a NeoForge build — the official Modrinth and CurseForge projects list Fabric as the loader for every modern version. When you see “Litematica NeoForge” on a download site, it is always the port described below, sometimes relabelled in ways that hide that fact.
Forgematica on NeoForge: Current Status
Forgematica ports Litematica to Forge and NeoForge, and NeoForge is clearly where the project is most alive. On Modrinth in October 2026, the newest Forgematica release is a NeoForge build published on October 13, 2026, there are NeoForge builds across the 1.21.x line, and a 0.5.0 build covers Minecraft 26.2 (published July 2026). For comparison, the official Fabric Litematica reached Minecraft 26.3 with version 0.29.1 in September 2026 — so the port runs roughly one game drop behind upstream, which is about as close as unofficial ports get. Like the original, Forgematica is LGPL-3.0 open source, but it is a separate project: TexTrue maintains it, and it is labelled unofficial on its own page.
The One Dependency That Trips Everyone: MaFgLib
Forgematica does not use MaLiLib. It requires MaFgLib, the companion library from the same project, built for NeoForge and for your exact Minecraft version. The pattern is the same one Fabric players know — Litematica plus its library, version-locked together — but the library is a different file. If NeoForge reports a missing dependency at startup, it is almost always a missing or mismatched MaFgLib. Our MaLiLib version mismatch guide explains the pairing logic, which applies here in the same way.
How to Install Forgematica on NeoForge
1. Install NeoForge for your Minecraft version and start the game once with that profile.
2. From Modrinth, download the Forgematica build for your game version and loader (NeoForge), plus the MaFgLib build for the same version and loader.
3. Place both jars in the mods folder of your game directory.
4. Launch and press M to open the main menu — the interface mirrors Litematica, and .litematic files go in the schematics folder as usual.
5. Keep both files updated as a pair when you change game versions; a Forgematica build for one Minecraft version will not load on another.
Honest Limits of the Port
Three caveats are worth knowing before you build a workflow on it. First, the lag: new Minecraft versions get Fabric Litematica first, and the port follows weeks or months later — if you always play the newest release on day one, NeoForge will frustrate you. Second, parity: it aims to reproduce Litematica, but minor behaviours and settings can differ, and Fabric tutorials (including ours) describe the original, so the occasional menu name or behaviour may not match exactly. Third, support: problems with the port go to TexTrue’s issue tracker, not to masa or to the current Fabric maintainer sakura-ryoko. None of this makes Forgematica a bad option — for NeoForge players it is the only option, and it is a well-kept one — but it is a port, and planning around that fact avoids most disappointment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an official Litematica for NeoForge?
No. Litematica is officially a Fabric mod for all modern Minecraft versions, and no official NeoForge build exists. Every NeoForge version you can find is Forgematica, the unofficial port by TexTrue.
What is the newest Minecraft version Forgematica supports on NeoForge?
Checked on Modrinth in October 2026, Forgematica’s NeoForge builds reach Minecraft 26.2, with fresh releases still appearing (the latest was published October 13, 2026). The official Fabric Litematica is one step ahead, on Minecraft 26.3. Always confirm the current list on the Forgematica project page before installing.
Does Forgematica need MaLiLib or MaFgLib?
MaFgLib. Forgematica uses its own companion library, matched to the same loader and Minecraft version. The Fabric MaLiLib jar does not work with the port.
Can I open my Fabric .litematic schematics in Forgematica?
Yes. Forgematica ports the same mod and uses the same .litematic format, so schematics move freely between the Fabric original and the NeoForge port.
